For the next few days, I will produce articles about the legendary horror movie director John Carpenter and some of his productions. This will be my first serious step in my goal to narrow down my ambition with the blog. Instead of just writing random reviews about random horror movies or books, I will take a different approach.
I will seek for the interesting themes and thoughts and ideas behind the horror genre. It will be more of a “philosophical” blog, if you will. Or just reviews that dwells more on the ideas behind the movie or book or whatever, as opposed by critique of a movie’s production or a book’s writing style. My post about the meaning behind “Jesus Wept” from Hellraiser was just a taste of things to come.
Stay tuned. Tonight or tomorrow I will talk to you about Mr. Carpenter… and from that moment on, The Horror Seeker continues his quest.
From now on, The Horror Seeker will continue with a different perspective.
Don’t get me wrong, the quest for the anatomy of horror will continue. I will continue to seek for great and interesting aspects in the world of the macabre and grotesque.
However, instead of just random reviews or analyses, I will narrow it down to aesthetic aspects. I will focus on poetic notions in horror; philosophical discussions about certain topics; or interesting artwork or visual imagery dedicated to the realm of darkness.
Now, let the quest continue.

“We make up horrors to help us cope with real ones.” – Stephen King
Every new year is a fresh start with new opportunities.
And my quest for horror continues.
I hope 2014 will be a good year for the world of horror. I hope that all my followers, and any potential visitors on The Horror Seeker, will have a marvelous and macabre year ahead of you.
Also, I have the goal to expand this blog, to make it more esthetically pleasing to the eye, write more posts on a regular basis, and to dwell deeper in the realm of the macabre and grotesque. I encourage you to write comments on any progress, or if you have any criticism.
In other words, I look forward to 2014 and I wish you all the best of luck in your lives, and hope to “meet” you again, “and that you will enjoy your stay in my beautiful land.”

Greetings, my friends!
This post is actually written just to make sure that I’m still alive. There are also two purposes: one is to give an apology and the other is to give you updates on the site in general.
- I’m so sorry for my lack of… well, presence in general. The world hasn’t always moved according to my will. A lot of thoughts have occupied my mind; thoughts about next year, my future, employment, everything. To put it bluntly, my brain has, in periods, been turned into mush.
- In just a matter of hours, a new post is on its way: a review of the novel Psycho. After that, there are two more novels to discuss. Not to mention all other stuff I have planned.
In preparation for 2014, I will be as active as possible in the weeks to come. So, show me just a little more patience, and the search for horror will continue.
I am so sorry for the lack of posts.
The reason is both simple and complex and unforgiving: I have moved to a new apartment, a new lair, with all the commitments and busy work that goes along with it.
But you don’t have to worry. There will be continuation of The Remake in Spotlight. Also, there will soon be posts about my thoughts regarding the horror genre and its relation to “violence”, the topic of personal taste, and many, many more.
In the meantime,
Let the darkness bless you all
